On June 24th Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes held a press conference on “Ending Homelessness” at Greater Trenton Behavioral HealthCare.
Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness
Mercer County’s NJ Counts results demonstrate that best practices – Housing First, Rapid Re-Housing and Centralized Assessment – we end homelessness.
The casualties of poverty, addiction got left behind on the battlefield of life, and we go back and pick them up and give them a new start.
Our leaders need to work together to ensure that our residents have a range of homes to choose from which will help our economy grow.
Since 2008, 132 individuals in the Housing First program initiated by the Alliance have moved into their own apartments, and only two have returned to homelessness.
