Veterans Affairs (VA) announced $9 million in NJ renewal grants for services that assist of low-income veteran families who are permanently housed.
Without passage of S. 1731, the VA would have had to stop serving about between 15 and 30 percent of the homeless veteran population.
Families who exited the SSVF program faired relatively better in terms of housing retention than their single counterparts.
