Training Key to Success

Since it’s inception, Monarch has always been involved in providing training and participating in conferences. These training activities have helped Monarch to fulfill its vision – that every person will have quality affordable, permanent housing that fosters freedom, independence and community integration.

In 2013, Monarch sponsored two conferences on HEARTH program implementation.

On Friday May 17, 2013, one hundred leaders from 18 of NJ’s 21 counties spent the day at Bristol Meyers Squibb in Plainsboro at the Changing the System to End Family Homelessness Conference.

The event was co-sponsored by the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness (Mercer Alliance) and Monarch Housing Associates (Monarch).

On October 14, 2013, Monarch Housing held the From Surviving to Thriving: Improving Your Impact and Ending Homelessness in a Time of Limited Resources Conference at The Conference Center at Mercer.

Monarch Housing will assist the Housing and Community Development Network, in facilitating the Homeless Providers and Advocates roundtable and developing an advocacy plan for ending homelessness. Recently, the Network and Monarch hosted a Federal Policy webinar. Some of these issues may help to frame the discussion.

NJ Counts is the annual Point in Time count of individuals and families experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in the state of New Jersey.

NJ Counts takes place during the last 10 days of January in accordance with requirements from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This year Monarch Housing is coordinating the statewide count and provide training.
