Bill Crawley is a Senior Housing Associate on the Housing Development Team.
A New Jersey native, Bill is an accomplished real estate developer with leadership experience across public and private sectors. He has held executive roles at the New York City Housing Authority, where he led the NextGen NYCHA initiative and created 1,500 units of affordable housing; the New Jersey Community Loan Fund, a CDFI focused on financing housing and economic development; and the National Credit Union Foundation, a national intermediary for community development finance.
Bill is the Managing Member of Polaris American Real Estate, an MBE-certified family-owned multifamily development and property management business. He is the co-founder of Balance Funding, Inc., a New Jersey focused, non-profit loan fund focused on providing access to capital and technical assistance for emerging real estate developers and business owners.
His earlier work includes founding a Newark faith-based credit union and leading the former Newark Housing Authority's Newark Downtown Core Redevelopment Corporation (NDCRC). Bill led the team of construction managers, project managers, attorneys, engineers and architects in the execution of $400M public investment in the Prudential Center and the surrounding downtown core public infrastructure, including NJ Devils Championship Plaza.
Bill holds degrees from Morehouse College (B.A.), Boston University School of Law (J.D.), and the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School (M.S. Real Estate). He is an attorney (retired), a Credit Union Development Educator, a CCIM member, and an alumnus of Leadership Newark and Coro NYC.
