Brief info
Sofia joined Monarch in August of 2025 as a member of the AmeriCorps and has remained as an intern for the Housing Development Team and Policy Team since June of 2026. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree in Planning and Public Policy from Rutgers University and is currently working toward her Master of Public Policy at the Rutgers University Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, where she is concentrating in economics, social justice, and community development.
Through her role at Monarch, Sofia supports the development of affordable housing projects, policy advocacy strategies, research, and communications. Her work is guided by a firm belief that everyone deserves access to safe and affordable housing, regardless of their background or personal circumstances. Born and raised in New Jersey, Sofia fosters a great appreciation for all that the state has accomplished for its residents and is honored to give back through her service at Monarch.
